“In the vast expanse where hells collide, Where the wings of iron and valor doth ride, So let history unveil the battles within, As our might soars at the mercy of the wind” Imperatus is a Black Metal band from Northern Vietnam. The band was founded in the midst of winter 2023 from the ruins of another project, with their debut album production process completed amidst its becoming. “At the Mercy of the Wind” - the debut album of Imperatus - is heavily influenced by the late-90s Black Metal movement in the Nordic regions, which is a blistering, fast-paced and brutal style of black metal music. On top of that is an overlay of Death metal and Thrash metal, all blended under the sense of melody and composition that can be heard from classical music. The album also features core members from Rêvasseur - a Melodic Death Metal band based in Hanoi, Vietnam - on track 8 “Embers of Hatred”, with Liam “Lupus” W on additional vocals while Satoshi Fukuda provided the guitar solo.
